Grace Like Rain – Todd Agnew

  • Grace Like Rain – Todd Agnew [rns]
    • Loop by Scott Bartholomew
    • Playability ★★★★★
    • Creativity ★★★☆☆
    • Overall: Sounds exactly like the original; a great rendition of the standard Amazing Grace hymn. Use this loop as a blended worship style that provides a throwback to the new and old.

All Because of Jesus – Steve Fee

  • All Because of Jesus – Steve Fee [rns]
    • Loop by Stu Cash
    • Playability ★★★★☆
    • Creativity ★★★★½
    • Overall: This version highlights the top-end of the EQ spectrum–the melody line during the intro/interludes. Played with a lead instrument (electric guitar, violin, etc.), this loop fits a standard 5-piece rock band exceptionally well. Easy-to-follow breaks and harmonic motion make this a win–and it follows the CCLI lead sheet quite well.

Why Loops? A Theological Explanation

bibleThis is a guest post from Will Flora, a great friend and worship leader on the theological aspects of using loops in worship.

As a worship leader it is very important to understand two things: worship is not just music, it is how we live our lives in a manner pleasing to God (Romans 12) and music is an awesome way to do that (Ephesians 5:18-21).  So how can we use music as our expression of thanks and adoration to the fullest? By putting forth our absolute best effort in our playing, writing, and leading. Read more
